The Rev. Dr. Terry K. Dittmer retired in 2016 after serving as director of LCMS Youth Ministry since 2001. Dittmer was in charge of organizing the first LCMS National Youth Gathering in 1980, and he served at every Gathering through the 2016 event. As a Youth Ministry specialist, he was responsible for administering the Synod’s youth organization, Lutheran Youth Fellowship, which supports youth ministry in the LCMS and promotes leadership skill development in teenagers.
