Ferguson, Mo., native Rev. Micah Glenn is beginning his first call as a pastor with The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod. He is the executive director of the Lutheran Hope Center in Ferguson and he will serve nearby Grace Lutheran Chapel in Bellefontaine Neighbors, Mo.
The LCMS is in the beginning stages of creating a church-planting initiative to help districts, circuits and congregations.

The Rev. Peter Burfeind and the Rev. Adam DeGroot were blessed and sent out as the first two “Mission Field: USA” national missionaries during a service on Jan. 12, 2016, at the LCMS International Center in St. Louis, Mo.
… it’s a full out Kodak moment that will make the headlines… a new era of LCMS missions, pioneers being sent into Mission Field : USA, what a glorious day with all the pomp and circumstance due to a living, breathing urban missionary. And then she had to come in.
The LCMS is actively partnering with districts, congregations and Recognized Service Organizations to place missionaries like the Rev. Adam DeGroot in Philadelphia.
Forty-five LCMS schools in urban areas all over the country recently got some surprising news: They were nominated by their district education executive to receive a grant of approximately $2,200 from LCMS Urban & Inner-City Mission (UICM).
LCMS Urban & Inner City Mission had the privilege to help support four summer urban vicarages in an effort to train up future urban missionaries. This included Martini Lutheran, Baltimore, MD; Bethlehem, Fort Wayne, IN; First Trinity, Pittsburgh, PA; and Philadelphia Lutheran Ministries, Springfield, PA.

He is the king of mercy!
Door-knocking by those trained for outreach has an increasing number of folks asking, “Que creen los Luteranos?” — or “What do Lutherans believe?”
