Congregations are encouraged to set aside Sunday, June 9, as “National Offering Sunday.”
The gifts totaling $411,305.69 will be used to support “ministry priorities” including national and international mission work and the Synod’s two seminaries.
The first allocation from The Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod’s 2016-19 National Offering is announced — made possible with gifts totaling $411,305.69.
Contributions will support national and international mission programs and projects related to the Synod’s threefold emphasis.
Funds from the offering will go toward planting churches, supporting pro-life efforts, preparing church workers and more.
LCMS congregations and households have given more than $484,000 to “Together as Synod,” the triennial LCMS National Offering.
LCMS congregations are being asked to gather contributions for the National Offering on Sunday, June 2, and have their delegates bring them to the Synod’s 65th Regular Convention, July 20-25 in St. Louis.
