The Rev. Phillip Baerwolf, associate pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church and School in East Dundee, Ill., has been named the recipient of the 2018 National Lutheran School Accreditation School Shepherd Award.
Schools of Distinction are rated in the top 5 percent of overall school accreditation ratings.
The award honors a pastor who provides “outstanding encouragement, support and service to his school.”
The first National Lutheran School Accreditation “Lutheran School Shepherd” award goes to the Rev. Kevin Jud, senior pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hamilton, Ohio.
The National Lutheran School Accreditation commission also receives training in new accreditation protocols that it approved a year ago.
Leaders of the eight schools will intentionally share their best practices with other Lutheran schools via webinars and print articles.
