During the COVID-19 shutdown, the Synod’s institutions of higher learning are looking for ways to help while following government-imposed safety mandates.
The Board of Regents of Concordia University, Portland, Ore., has announced the closure of the school effective at the end of the current academic semester on April 30, 2020.
The institutions of the Concordia University System, the national higher education network of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, extend together our collective support for the students, faculty, staff, and administration of our sister campus in Portland, Oregon, which announced its intention to cease operations at the close of this spring semester.
The Nov. 18–21 meeting was held concurrently with meetings of the LCMS Board of Directors, Concordia University System and a gathering of business and office managers from across the Synod.
Among other business, the Board heard a report from the Synod president, elected a new BOD member, and thanked retiring CFO Jerry Wulf for his service.
