At its April 26–28 meeting, the LCMS Commission on Theology and Church Relations adopted a new report that focuses on the spiritual benefits of individual confession and absolution for both laity and pastors.
The Resolution 4-06A Task Force’s 32-page report and a two-page executive summary of the report are available for download.
The update is needed because of “many changes in the understanding of morals, civil law and natural law in church and society,” according to the 2013 Synod convention.
The Revs. Steve Schave and Mark Wood will take on the roles of directors of Church Planting and Revitalization, respectively, in work mandated by the 2013 LCMS convention.
The Sept. 20-23 meeting of the LCMS Council of Presidents involves a lot more than oversight of administrative issues.
The update focuses mainly on those resolutions adopted by delegates to the 2013 Synod convention that require specific, ongoing action.
