The Rev. Michael Meyer is the manager, LCMS Disaster Response, the disaster response and human care ministry of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS). In this role, Meyer assists with the church’s response to natural and man-made disasters occurring domestically and internationally. He works with LCMS districts and congregations, LCMS Recognized Service Organizations and external relief organizations to implement the church’s immediate and long-term response to help people in the aftermath of disastrous events. Among Meyer’s responsibilities are oversight of the LCMS District Disaster Response Program, in which he works with volunteer District Disaster Response Coordinators (DDRCs) to ensure ongoing disaster-readiness training and preparation among LCMS districts, congregations, international staff and partner churches worldwide.
