This seems highly irreverent, what does this have to do with salvation? We should pray over vegetarian dinners with as much reverence as we pray over dinners with meat as the main course. All comes from God and is given without our own merit as our daily bread. I read the article and realize that you mentioned that the sacrifice of the animal as just but one of the reasons we pray before eating, but the kind of dialogue you are provoking with this commentary is far more “us vs them” (and not even on Christian terms as much as cultural terms mind you), and much less “we are all one in Christ.” Let’s make the Christian message be about eternal salvation, not about reacting to the back and forth of fleeting politics.
