Glad to have this information about Rev.Dr. Norman Edgar Nagel. I was at Valpo from Sept. 1965 to Jan. 1968. My mom was a army nurse during part of wwii. My mom was asinded to Australia for while b efore being sent to New Guinea. My mom knew Rev. Borgas who was from England. Their son Peter visited the U.S. in the summer of 1964. Peter visited our home as part of that trip. Peter got a taste of farm life here. The sweetcorn canning company harvested our acerage while he was here. Had to get up at 3:30 am. Peters comment to mom the next morning was “and we thought your we’re beginning to be civilized”. My late wife’s oldest son farmed near Webster Groves MO. in the early 1980’s . My wife and I visited him and his family in Jan. 1984 and they took us to Webster Groves. I did not know that there was a historic Lutheran Church there I hope to go there some time soon to see it.
