KFUO Audio: U.S. Air Force colonel suspended for marriage beliefs

People of Christian faith have come under increasing attack from secular sources, and United States military members are one target.

U.S. Air Force Col. Leland Bohannon was suspended from command in May 2017 after he refused to sign a certificate of appreciation and publicly affirm the same-sex spouse of a retiring subordinate. A superior officer then recommended against Bohannon’s promotion to brigadier general, likely ending his military career.

Bohannon is being represented by attorney Michael Berry, Deputy General Counsel for First Liberty Institute. Berry discussed the matter with moderator Kip Allen during Worldwide KFUO’s November Free to be Faithful® radio program.

This is truly a frightening thing to have happen in the military. I have a grandson who is in the Seabees right now. He has not indicated that such a problem exists at his base so far, but I can see it happening. We need to recognize the LBGT group as sinners just as we are, and speak to them with God’s love. But we must also remember what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah when the young men would not leave Lot’s guests alone. I know that Christ’s death and resurrection paid for the sins of the ENTIRE world, but those who refuse the Holy Spirit have a very serious problem!
Some one has to take the Supreme Court by the horns and remind them that they are not free to write new laws. It is their job to see that the laws conform to what has been written in the past. If there was a difficulty with the old law, then it should be declared unconstitutional, and the LEGISLATURE is to come up with a new law.

This is disgusting. I’m very concerned for christians serving today in the military. Furthermore, what kind of an ungodly military force will we end up with if this is allowed to continue.
