Aug. 23 webinar: ‘Faith on the Field: The Vocation of an Athlete’

Rev. Bob Hiller

“Faith on the Field: The Vocation of an Athlete” is the title of a free webinar that aired Aug. 23.

Sponsored by LCMS Youth Ministry, the webinar was offered as a support resource for professional and lay leaders who work with youth.

“The Lord has gifted many of our youth with athletic skills and abilities,” said the webinar’s presenter, the Rev. Bob Hiller. “How are they to live out the faith in the field of competition? How can they love their enemy and try to defeat them at the same time? What does it look like for youth leaders to support youth involved in sports? These are the questions we will tackle together.”

Hiller, senior pastor at Community Lutheran Church in Escondido, Calif., spoke on this topic to a teen audience at the 2016 LCMS Youth Gathering in New Orleans.
