As a 2nd generation German immigrant (Grandfather came to USA in 1920 after Treaty of Versailles stripped family of all property), I was raised in a very devout, staunch Lutheran home. Any consideration of joining with another church body must be viewed with caution and skepticism. Remember the 1997 “Deal with the Devil”? And more historically, the almost total dissolution of Lutheranism following Luther’s death in 1546, when Melecheton allied with the Calvinists? The LCMS must take the same strong, scripturally confident stance that Luther did at the Deit of Worms in 1521. We must not compromise on any article in the Book of Concord.
