Volunteers needed for holistic ministry in Peru

Short-term volunteer teams of eight to 12 members each are being sought by LCMS World Mission and LCMS World Relief and Human Care to serveperu-bible.jpg a week in Lucumo, Peru, in May and June.

Teams would help rebuild the community’s quake-damaged dam by carrying rock, laying cement, and cleaning up rubble.  They also will help lead vacation Bible school classes, Bible studies, and other outreach activities.

Reconstruction of the dam began last November with funding from LCMS World Relief and Human Care.

Teams are needed to serve:

  • May 24-June 1;

  • May 31-June 8;

  • June 7-15; and

  • June 14-22.

Team members would be responsible for their own expenses — $600 to $800 per person, plus airfare.
