New in Reporter: ‘RSO Update’

Beginning with the July 2014 edition, Reporter (and Reporter Online) will include a quarterly “RSO Update.”

Each quarterly listing will include any new LCMS Recognized Service Organizations (RSOs), those whose RSO status has been renewed and those whose RSO status has been removed.

rso-INThis month’s update includes RSO listings from April through mid-June of this year. No RSOs have been renewed or removed in that period.

The “Update” will not appear in Reporter when there have been no new RSOs or those whose status has changed since the previous listing.

RSO status granted by the Synod signifies that a service organization — while independent of the LCMS — fosters the mission and ministry of the Synod and respects and does not act contrary to its doctrine and practice.

LCMS RSOs provide a variety of services to individuals, from the beginning to the end of their lives. Their services include counseling, youth and family services, aging, adoption/foster care, homeless shelters, food pantries, education, mission outreach, disability, hearing- and sight-impaired services and other areas showing the love and compassion of Christ to those in need.

“RSO Update” information is provided by the LCMS Office of National Mission — RSO Ministry.
